Teno Massif and Masca

The Teno Massif and the beautiful mountain village of Masca

The north west corner of Tenerife can be very wind blown and cloudy, but our walk finds one of the many micro climates of the island, and we can expect good weather.

We start at Teno Alto and head for the Palmar Valley with magnificent views as we head downwards. The Palmar Valley has a more gentle beauty to it than other walking destinations of Tenerife, but is impressive nonetheless.

The gradual ascent through the valley towards the Barranco de Masca is most enjoyable but the most rewarding sight is the one we see as we walk down to the idyllic mountain village of Masca, our final destination.

When you see Masca situated at the top of the barranco (gorge) you feel you could be in the Andes. It is the most beautiful village on the island.
